Senor Holmes

I met Harry and Quito five years ago at the music festival that I attend every year called Le printemps de Bourges. Quito is a hard working musician and Harry is an amazing drummer. Together they have created two wonderful albums that should be in everyone's musical library. Their music is based on "Gwo Ka” which was originally played by African slaves in Guadeloupe. It is composed of seven distinct rhythms. Harry uses two songs, “Toumblack,” that calls for revolution, and “Kaladja,” that can be assimilated into Blues. Both men are hard to describe and incredibly energetic.

Thom O'Brien
"When Bob Marley meets the Beatles.” I think this is a fair description of Thom. His latest album combines traditional Irish ballads with reggae melodies. Thom is one of these fascinating modest characters from which music pours out like gold. Once his engaging melodies have reached you, they follow you for the rest of your life. Listen to his songs and you will remember him forever.

Chris Ardoin

Discovering zydeco music was an important moment of my life. Thanks to Sean, Chris and the warmth of the Ardoin family of Lake Charles Louisiana, I started investigating the roots of zydeco music, then Creole music. Amédé and "Bois Sec" Ardoin were pioneers of that music, and as a fan of folkloric music, traditional instruments and performers that come from families of musicians, my fascination with this family grew. They carry the voice, the music and the message of their roots.

Chris Ardoin has used his talent to mix zydeco with rhythm and blues, reggae and hip-hop. He is now the rising star of this new genre of music. If you go down to Louisiana, track him down.
